Welcome to Physics!!!

This class is all about observing the natural world and figuring out the rules of the game.  We will be DOING labs, THINKING about how things work, and will be MAKING CONCLUSIONS based on your experiences.  Please let your instructor know if you have any questions.

Tuesday, Nov. 30th

Happy last day of November!

1. Finish “Flick that Penny” & collect
2. Share results:  a few things to remember with projectile motion…
   • “x” and “y” variables are completely independent of each other – they both do their own thing!
     • “x” has a constant velocity
     • “y” has a constant acceleration
   • Time is the ONLY thing “x” and “y” have in common.  If you know time, you are “golden”
3. Begin Textbook reading:  Read pages 73-79 and pages 263-265 in your Hewitt Book.  Be sure to take good notes in your composition book!

Today, we will wrap up “Throw Me the Ball” and go over any questions.  This is our first real look at projectile motion using the math to help explain our thinking.

3. Back to the Mac lab!  We will complete the graphs (you will have a total of 6 graphs- make sure they are labeled in the vertical and horizontal)and conclusion sheet
